Susan Schneider brings her energy and dynamic personality to the Home Based Travel Agent Show to talk about how her travel agency became a success. This is a story of twin sisters who turned their passion for travel into a successful travel business. Susan was not without challenges and her greatest challenge was when she lost her twin to cancer. This devastating loss moved her business from a brick and mortar store to a home-based business. But, during their time together, Susan and Robin made a big impact on the travel business in Columbus, Ohio where they were popular radio personalities on WOSU, the local public radio station. Susan and Robin were also frequent contributors to suburban newspapers around Columbus where they entertained and informed thousands of readers. In this podcast, you will hear Susan's story and learn about how she and her sister created a successful travel business.

360 – How Italy4Real Uses Technology to Create Itineraries

Operating a tour business has its challenges but it also has great rewards. Rem Malloy from Italy4Real, and Scott Rutz from Travefy, join the show to talk about the challenges of operating a tour business and how technology can remove many of the challenges for any travel consultant building an itinerary. Rem explains that building itineraries with old tools; pencil and paper, Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word is a challenge because, at times, customers' change their desires and sometimes suppliers are no longer available. This challenge is true if you are designing a vacation for one person or for fifty people in a group. Scott then explains how Travefy uses technology to overcome the many challenges of building an itinerary and branding the finished product for your travel business. 248 - I'm In London and I've Been Mugged

Early in the morning on May 7, 2010, Lorene began receiving phone calls from friends. Some were asking if she was okay and others informed her that her email account had been hacked. Lorene's email was hacked and everyone in her address book received a message stating, "I'm in London and I've been mugged, my money was stolen and I need you to send me $2,500 as soon as possible." Barry and Lorene talk about this invasion into Lorene's email, how it effected her travel agent business and how you can prevent this from happening to you.
