Steve Mydanick from the Society for Accessible Travel and Hospitality (SATH) joins Lorene and I to talk about the travel industry and SATH's advocacy for accessible travel. SATH was founded in 1976 fourteen years before the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became a household word. Back then SATH's goal was to reach the untapped travel market of 40 million people with disabilities who were excluded from the ranks of tourists. Today there are over 50 million people with disabilities who have the time and income to travel. This market for travel agents remains largely untapped. A review of the landing pages of the major travel websites tells me they are ignoring this market. So what are you waiting for?
